Samira Hurem: We achieved the goal we worked hard for

After the draw with Azerbaijan today in Baku, the women’s “A” national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina managed to reach the World Cup play-offs for the first time.

Head coach Samira Hurem is proud of the success achieved by our team:

“We must all be proud of what we did in these qualifications. This was our goal that we believed in and that we all worked hard for. Qualification for the play-offs is the biggest success for women’s football in Bosnia and Herzegovina and I congratulate my players, colleagues in the technical staff, the Bosnia and Herzegovina Football Federation and all those who supported us on this journey.”

Hurem also added:

“We are a little sorry that we did not win today’s match. The players had a great desire and we had more than the game during the whole match. Surely, the injury of our captain Milena Nikolić made our job more difficult. We all know how much she means to this team and, with her in the line-up, it would be a completely different story. However, we have nothing to complain the players, they fought during the entire qualification and that’s why we were rewarded with this success.”
