Our national team has the opportunity to reach the play-offs and the head coach Samira Hurem points out that the team has the quality to achieve that goal:
“We are aware of what the victory against Azerbaijan brings us and the importance of the match against them. We know them very well, because we have already played at the “Grbavica”. We were not complete then, but we managed to win. The opponent is not easy and we have to play the match at a high level to get the victory that takes us to the play-offs. This would make it a historic success for women’s football in Bosnia and Herzegovina. We need good preparation. We are aware of our quality and that we are better than the next opponent, but we will have to show it on the pitch. We will have all the players we have invited available at this gathering, and that also makes us happy.”
National team player Melisa Hasanbegović said:
“We have started preparations for a very important match ahead of us. We approach our tasks seriously and have enough time to prepare well. We are all committed to one goal, which is a victory and qualification for the play-offs for the World Cup.”
Maja Jelčić thinks similarly:
“We have high expectations for the match ahead of us. We really want to win those three points, second place in the group and qualification for the play-offs. It is clear to us that it would be a historic success for our women’s football. That’s why we have to use these preparations in the best way, in order to be ready for the match and achieve the desired result.”
The She-Dragons will prepare in Zenica until 4th September when they travel to Baku. The match with Azerbaijan is scheduled for 6th September.
