With support from the stands to three new points

The press conference of the women’s “A” national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina ahead of the UEFA Nations League match with Slovenia was held today at the BH FF Training Centre in Zenica.

The head coach Samira Hurem and the national team players Milena Nikolić and Marija Aleksić answered the journalists’ questions.

Among other things, head coach Hurem said:

“It was very important for us to win the first match against Belarus. It was difficult and demanding, but the girls did their best and showed their desire to win. There were also mistakes, but the most important thing is that we won. We opened the competition in the best way and that is good for the confidence of this young team. Now we enter the match with Slovenia more relaxed psychologically. A very good match is behind us and I congratulate the players. We tried to correct the mistakes we made, in order to meet Slovenia as ready as possible.”

Samira Hurem also commented on tomorrow’s opponent:

“An even more demanding match awaits us tomorrow. Slovenian women have very good players who play in strong clubs and leagues. We know the way they play and what they have done in the last two years is very commendable. We are a team that is also of good quality and that gives us the right to expect to play another good match. If the girls respect everything we agree on, I believe that the result will be on our side as well.”

Hurem also referred to the line-up:

“There won’t be many changes compared to the first match. The most important thing is that we have no injured players. We also have to take into account the opponent’s game. They are dangerous in attack; they are a strong team and we will make a few changes compared to the match with Belarus.”

The head coach has a message for football fans and fans of the national team:

“We invite all male and female fans to come and support these girls. This team is special with great emotion and togetherness. They are professionals, they don’t calculate and they give 100% in the national team. I would like to fill the stands, because the support of the audience means a lot to us.”

Captain Milena Nikolić said:

“We are satisfied with the opening of the competition and the result achieved against Belarus. The opponent was not easy, the match was difficult. We gave our best and the victory came as a reward for our efforts on the pitch. We can be satisfied with this young team; you can see the progress of the younger players. This is confirmed by their transfers to foreign clubs, which also gives them experience, and therefore quality for our national team.”

Nikolić also added:

“For sure, our confidence has increased after the victory in the last match, which means a lot for the next match as well. I am sure that we will give our best at home with our audience and win three more points. We entered this competition with great ambitions. The opponents are not easy, but if we strive and if we are at our level, we can expect to be rewarded with good results.”

Marija Aleksić also addressed the media representatives.

“The atmosphere in the team is excellent, especially after the victory in the first match. We are at home and with our supporters I believe we are the favourites tomorrow. Of course, football is a beautiful game in which nothing is known until the referee blows the final whistle. A lot of parameters will play a role tomorrow, but we will do what we have to do and we expect victory”, says Aleksić and continues:

“We have a lot to prove and show. We have an opportunity to do great things. We have to see what happens on the pitch tomorrow, but I hope for the best. We have very good young players who have the opportunity to become top players. Some went to big clubs where football is more demanding. We have the potential to be a top team, but we need time. That’s why I would ask for your patience. We still have a lot to achieve, but very young players are playing important matches here. All in all, we have the conditions to become a top team.”

The match Bosnia and Herzegovina-Slovenia is scheduled for tomorrow at 16:00 h at the BH FF Training Centre in Zenica.
