Women's National Team Holds Press Conference

Bosnia and Herzegovina’s women’s national "A" team gathered yesterday in Zenica, with media activities taking place today at the FFBiH Training Center.

Head coach Selver Hodžić, along with players Selma Kapetanović and Marija Ana Milinković, addressed the media, discussing the upcoming UEFA Nations League matches against Romania and Northern Ireland.

Coach Selver Hodžić said: "We expect two tough matches. The timing at the end of the season isn’t ideal, as some players had a break, but we’re preparing them well, and they’ll be ready. We previously beat Romania 4:0, but they are a quality team. Tactically we were spot on in that game and scored four goals at key moments. We’ve got another match against them Friday and we’re ready for it."

He also commented on the roster: "Emina Ekić isn’t here because she's competing in the final stage of the championship in the U.S. Andrea Gavrić and Đula Velagić couldn’t join due to injuries, and Marija Aleksić has been out for some time. Lana Radulović also got injured yesterday, so she won’t be available either. However we’ve got captain Milena Nikolić back, who’s very important for our team, as well as Selma Kapetanović and Ena Šabanagić. They’re all key players who’ve recovered from injuries, and we’ve got enough players to face Romania and Northern Ireland."

Selma Kapetanović said: "The atmosphere in the team is fantastic, we couldn’t wait to get together. Some players are not in the same training rhythm, but we’ve got enough time to get ready. I believe we can secure six points, and we’ll give our best to make it happen."

Marija Ana Milinković added:

"We arrived ready and eager to play. We know our opponents and we’re taking the favorite role in both matches. With three training sessions left before the first game, we’ll use them to get fully prepared and meet the staff’s expectations. Against Poland, who were favorites, we showed we can hold our own. I hope we’ll win these next matches."

Determination, unity, and love in representing the national jersey will be our key strengths in the upcoming duels as the team aims for another successful international window.
