Dragan Jevtić: We want to make a step forward

The women’s U-19 national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina learned the names of its opponents in the second qualifying round for the European Championship yesterday.

The BH team will compete in Group A5 with Italy, Switzerland and Hungary, and the head coach Dragan Jevtić is satisfied with the draw:

“In general, we are satisfied with the group and the qualification for Division A. We want to make a step forward and qualify for the big competition. This group of girls showed that they could handle everyone, even teams that have a higher rating than us. In this regard, we leave the role of favourites to other teams in our group, but they will also have a difficult task to justify it and it will not be easy for them with us. We have enough time to prepare for the qualifications and to try out some more players who could help us in the future.”

Jevtić also referred to the first qualifying round, which our team ended with maximum effect:

“Before the start of the qualifications, we announced that we were the favourites and we did not run away from responsibility. We showed as much as we could on the pitch, but now we are facing real challenges. We will not give up on our philosophy, which is to win every match. We tried to make a team of winners and we succeeded. I expect us to continue to play at a high pace.”
