New victory for BH juniors

The women’s U-19 national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina defeated today in Široki Brijeg the corresponding national team of Estonia with 4:0 in the second-round match of the qualifying group B6 for EURO 2022.

The BH team came to the advantage in the 8th minute. Sydney Japić sends the ball into the opponent’s penalty area on the left side for Maja Jelčić who freed of her keeper and sent the ball into the opposite corner for 1:0.

In the 16th minute, Elma Smajić excellent passed to Marija Ana Milinković whose shot from the right side was bounced by the Estonian goalkeeper Keiti Kruusmann into the corner.

Dragan Jevtić’s team played an excellent action in the 26th minute. Smajić accurately sent the ball through the middle to the Estonian penalty area, and Jelčić managed well again and scored a goal for 2:0.

Jelčić scored the third goal from the penalty spot in the 31st minute, which was preceded by a foul by Anastasia Fyodorova on Elma Smajić.

Smajić, in the 40th minute, after a solo break tries diagonally from the left side, but Kruusmann defended her shot. It was the last chance in the first half.

The BH team controlled the game and had more ball in possession in the second period, and the first chance was created in the 60th minute when Maja Jelčić’s shot after the pass of Naida Haračić was defended by the Estonian goalkeeper.

The fourth goal was scored in the 63rd minute. After a great played action, Milinković sent the ball in the middle for Elma Smajić who precisely shot. By the end of the match, the pace of the game dropped and the result did not change.

Elvira Hasanović, in the 68th minute, shot from twenty meters, but the ball went next to the goal.

In the second match of the group, Montenegro also beat Armenia 4:0. B&H and Montenegro have 6 points each on the table, while Estonia and Armenia have 0.

The third round is scheduled for Monday, 25th October at 14:30 h. Bosnia and Herzegovina will play with Montenegro at the Bijeli Brijeg Stadium in Mostar, while the Armenia-Estonia match will be played in Široki Brijeg.
