Victory for qualification for the qualifying League A

 

The women’s U-19 national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina defeated Montenegro today in Mostar with 1:0 in the third-round match of group B6 of the first qualifying round for the European Championship.

From the very beginning, the BH team had a field initiative and after several attempts, it was already 1:0 in the 16th minute. Maja Jelčić shot well from over 20 meters and hits the Montenegrin net.

After a corner kick in the 25th minute, the ball came to Vanessa Šabanović, who shot over the goal from a favourable position. Elma Smajić had no more success two minutes later, when she tried from the edge of the penalty area. Until the end of the first half, Dragan Jevtić’s team controlled the game, but the result did not change.

In the second match of the group, Estonia beat Armenia 6:0 in Široki Brijeg. Bosnia and Herzegovina finished the tournament in first place with 9 points ahead of Montenegro (6), Estonia (3) and Armenia (0). The female juniors achieved a qualification for the qualifying League A.
