With the victory over Montenegro, the women’s U-19 national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina achieved a qualification for League A of the qualifiers for the European Championship 2022.
Head coach Dragan Jevtić is satisfied with what the players showed in the qualifying tournament:
“The tournament ended as we expected, we justified the role of favourites and qualified for Division A. Congratulations to the girls, they gave their maximum. In today’s match, it was felt that the players were under pressure and that this team could certainly do better than what it showed against Montenegro. However, that does not diminish the fact that the opponent was of very high quality and I would like the results from other groups to match in their favour, and that they, as the best second-ranked team, would be qualified for the next round. We have achieved our goal and I take this opportunity to thank the BH FF for their support during the tournament and the conditions provided for our quality preparation.”
Maja Jelčić, who scored the only goal in the match against Montenegro, said after the match:
“We expected a difficult match and that’s how it was today. We prepared well and we were a better team on the pitch. I am happy that we achieved a victory and qualified for the next round of qualifications. Our expectations are high. I am sure that we will achieve good results in League A too.”
