Their first opponent will be the Dutch team, with the match set for tomorrow.
Coach Dragan Jevtić, ahead of the match says: “We’re facing our first tournament match against the Netherlands, a respectable and strong adversary. Most of our players have already had the chance to meet them at the European Championship for cadets which was held in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The teams are well-acquainted, and we must concede the role of favorites to our guests, but we’ve also prepared well and I’m certain the players will give their best. Everyone is eagerly awaiting the start of the match and we wish to present ourselves in the best possible light.”
Goalkeeper Iman Dumanjić doesn’t hide her satisfaction at being called up for this gathering: “With the upcoming qualifiers, I feel a great motivation and readiness for the challenges that await us. We’re aware that each of the three matches will be very demanding, but we’re striving to deliver our best performance and accomplish the desired result. The key factor for our success will be the fighting spirit we show on the field. We’re ready, we’ve trained hard recently, and we’ll give our best to achieve the best possible outcome. Playing for the national team is an immense honor and privilege for me, and it’s hard to describe that emotion. I’m grateful to the coach and trainers for the trust they’ve placed in me and for the calls over all these years. I will put forth all my effort to justify my place on the team, as I always have.”
