An exhibition sports event "Tirana and Maracana", held in memory of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national "A" team's football beginnings, was played last night at the Ramiz Salčin sports hall in Sarajevo.

Former national "A" football team members were divided into two teams, Blue and White, while former coaches Mišo Smajlović and Fuad Muzurović lead them from the bench.

Blue team: Almir Tolja, Mehmed Baždarević, Vlatko Glavaš, Mirza Varešanović, Elvir Baljić, Senad Repuh, Enes Demirović, Nermin Šabić, Senad Brkić i Jasmin Hukić, and Elvir Bolić as a substitute.

White team: Samir Šabanović, Muhamed Konjić, Nudžein Geca, Said Fazlagić, Vedin Musić, Esmir Džafić, Asim Hrnjić, Vahidin Imamović, and Ekrem Bradarić.

Blue team won the game 3-2. Glavaš scored two goals for the winning team besides Hukić, and on the other side Džafić and Imamović scored one goal each.

Fuad Muzurović said that everything went by in a pleasant atmosphere: "It's was a nice get-together and I hope it will become a tradition because these people deserve it, I'm only sorry that not everyone was able to come. I'd like to thank the FFBIH for organizing this event, and I wish to coach Bažarević to take our team to the World Cup."

Muhamed Konjić: "I'm excited, full of enthusiasm and desire, just like 20 years ago. It's a wonderful feeling to hang out again with all these people and remember the original team, when we made a nice story in a difficult time."

Nermin Šabić: "Those first steps were really important, so many good and difficult things we had to go through at that time will always be remembered. Most of us aren't seeing each other that often, but we're happy to be a part of this event and this story."

Prior to the event, FFBIH president Elvedin Begić handed out a check in the amount of 4.600 BAM from the ticket proceeds to the Institution for Special Education and Care of Children "Mjedenica" Sarajevo.
