At the football summit of the European Special Olympics, held in Budapest in November this year, our Federation was awarded as a leader of inclusion in European football, along with Belgium, Romania, and Moldova.
Today in Sarajevo, on behalf of the BH FF, the general secretary Adnan Džemidžić, executive director of the Sports Sector Darko Ljubojević and grassroots manager Ivana Vlaić, received the award from the BH Special Olympics, director Kada Delić Selimović and football coordinator Vedad Čengić.
“Through various projects, we pay a lot of attention to grassroots football. The BH FF, through cooperation with the Special Olympics in B&H, has always worked on the inclusion of children with disabilities in football, and the award we received is the crown of all that. This recognition gives us greater motivation to cooperate even more closely in the future. We will continue in that direction, because football must be accessible to everyone, regardless of race, gender, ability. The BH Special Olympics is on the same path, we are looking in the same direction, and there are certainly many more joint projects and challenges ahead of us that we will successfully implement”, said Darko Ljubojević.
Kada Selimović Delić pointed out that the award fell into the right hands, because football proved to be the best sport for inclusive activities for children with developmental disabilities, and that the European Special Olympics recognized the high level of cooperation between the BH FF and the BH Special Olympics.
