A great number of boys and girls participated in Grassroots Day event today in FFBIH training center in Zenica. The event was opened by FFBIH general secretary Jasmin Bakovic who welcomed all attendees and added: "We have joined here today to celebrate Grassroots Day, football event organized by all UEFA members. Many talented girls and boys have the opportunity to socialize and make new friends. I believe everyone will happily return to their homes full of nice impressions and experiences."
Main philosophy of Grassroots program is to open the doors to football to everyone, regardless of their sex, race, abilities, nationality and religion. Young players from FS (football school) Novi Grad, FS Don Bosko, HSK Zrinjski, FS Napad, FK Slavija, FS Piksi, FK Glasinac, FS Bambi, FK Fojnica, FS Valter, FS Tempo, FK Sloboda, FK Sutjeska, NK Celik, and FS Mlade Nade made this event possible.
FS Bambi coach Enes Mesanovic: "This is a fantastic event and a very important one for these young players, and I'd like to thank FFBIH for organizing it. Children are full of positive impressions and thrilled to see where our best national football team is having their training sessions."
Eldar Becarevic from FS Napad: "It's beautiful here, I met new friends and I hope to play for our national team some day and excersise here in this training session."
Sergej Beatovic from Glasinac: "It's great being here. This is my first time, and I'm having lots of fun."
FS Mlade coach Dalibor Nedic: "Very nice gesture from FFBIH to organize such an event where kids have the opportunity to see where our best national football team is having their training sessions, and perhaps to be a part of that team one day."
Marko Knezevic, Zrinjski: "We're having a great time here, we hang out and I'm glad I have the opportunity to meet players from all over the country."
Young players also had the opportunity to practice penalty shots with goalkeeper trainers and former players Enver Lugusic, Goran Brasnic and Nenad Dzidic, and to learn something from BIH football referees' personal experiences.
