UEFA Grassroots Day was celebrated today at the FFBIH training center in Zenica. The event was opened by a youth football coordinator Murat Jaha, who welcomed the participants and said:
"Just like the other UEFA members, Football Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina set up the Grassroots event this week. Girls and boys from all over the country came to Zenica today, where they have a chance to socialize with our national teams' head coaches, and learn and develop their football skills in a fun way. Main philosophy of Grassroots program is to open the doors to this sport to everyone, regardless of their sex, race, abilities, nationality or religion, and all of us approach it with pride and enthusiasm."
BiH women's national "A" football team members hung with the children today, as well as the male cadet football team who shared the presents and certificates with the youngest players.
Young Lazar Lajic from FK Star Gradiska: "I'm very glad to be here and have the opportunity to meet with BiH national players, because one day I'd like to be like them."
OFK Bihac coach Senad Hodzic also praised today's event: "This is really a special event for these children, and we're honored to have them here from all over our country to meet and socialize. Besides, we've prepared a lot of interesting and quality content for them, and they'll have an opportunity to learn from our distinguished coaching staff."
More than 600 kids from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina participated at this year's Grassroots event.
