As an introduction to the match, a tournament for girls under 13 from the "South," "Center," "North," and "West" regions took place this morning.
Ivana Vlaić, Senior Specialist for Women's Football Development at FFBiH said: "Football Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in cooperation with UEFA, has been organizing training sessions twice a month for the most talented players in four regions over the past year, with the aim of developing elite young football players. This approach allows us to keep an eye on girls from all over BiH, which makes selection for our national teams easier, while at the same time providing all talented players with the opportunity to train under high-quality UEFA programs and in well-structured groups.
As a reward for these young players, we organized a tournament in Zenica today where they had the opportunity to compete and have fun. I'm glad to see the smiles on their faces, and what's very important for us is that all players show evident progress since we started this project. We'll continue working with these elite young players, and we're going to see the true results of this project in about three to four years time when these footballers will compete for our national teams."
In addition to this tournament, a match between under-15 players from the "North" and "South" regions was planned but canceled due to unfavorable weather conditions.
