One of the players who got the call for the match againt Egypt was Tino-Sven Susic, calm and quiet guy who shares the famous last name with our coach.
His thoughts on meeting his teammates are positive: „Everyone welcomed me really well, I'm nervous a little because I met the players I only watched on television, and now I'm here with them.“
He got the call after excellent performance in Hajduk, and he hopes he'll get the chance to prove himself in national team: „I'm nervous, but in a positive way because this is my first time here, but if I get the chance to play, it'll pass. It's different when you play in a club because all around me are the top players from the top clubs, and I think playing with them will be easier despite the more difficult match.“
What does this call mean to you?
„It means to me a lot. Ever since I was a boy I dreamt of playing for the national team, and so I worked and trained hard. To play for your country is a great honor.“
The match agaist Egypt doesn't bother him too much: „I hope I'll get the chance to play, but that depends on the coach and his decision, but should I go, I'll give them my best, and prove my last name has nothing to do with them inviting me.“
When you mention your last name, is it burden to you, or perhaps the advantage.
„When I was younger it was a burden. When you bear the last name „Susic“, everyone compares you to your father or uncle, but I don't care much for that anymore. There will always be jealous people who talk too much, but my job is to work and train as best as I can. It's an incentive now to prove everyone I can play for A team.“
