The U-19 team will compete in the elite round of qualifications for the European U-19 Championship, in March next year, with Austria, Denmark and Turkey. The head coach, Toni Karačić, says on the group:
“There are no weak opponents at this stage of the competition, so we expected neither serious nor easy group. We need to prepare as better as we can and go match by match. We hope for the best, but it is certain that all teams are very good, so we expect tough matches.”
Karačić also commented on the group in the qualifications for the European U-19 Championship 2018/19:
“The Netherlands and Ireland certainly have quality and achieve good results in youth football. Neither the Faroe Islands should be underestimated. In any case, the most important thing is to prepare for the qualifications. The group is difficult, but qualification to the elite round can be achieved. We must seriously approach the business and we can achieve good results only in this way.”
