Shortly after the first round of Group B of the European Championship between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Austria, coach Sakib Malkocevic said:
"We started the game a little scared, which Austrians used to their advantage - they attacked constantly and quickly scored two goals. After that it was hard to get back into the game. We made it easy for them, but that doesn't lessen their victory. We played better in the second half, but the opponent was better, faster, more ready, and we congratulate them on the victory.
We'll try to recover in the next two days because Germany awaits us, who's even more difficult opponent. Today we weren't at the same level as in the Elite Round, we couldn't get into the zone, and Austria deserved to win in the end."
Player Amar Besirevic is also disappointed with the result: "Unfortunately we were defeated in the first match of the European Championship. We didn't start the match like we wanted to. In the second period we improved our game, had a few opportunities, but we didn't make it."
