Even though Bosnia and Herzegovina's national cadet team lost the final Elite round match against Russia, they still managed to qualify for the European Championship. Coach Sakib Malkocevic didn't hide his excitement after the great result in Georgia:

"We did a great thing and relieved ourselves of a huge burden. Boys showed a great desire to win and they were rewarded for it. Although we were weakened by Dadic's and Miric's absence, and adding to that Russia's strong motivation, we played very well and created more opportunities than in previous games. Our opponent punished our misses, but our players showed their true character and qualified for the European Championship.

This is a huge success for us, for FFBIH, and for youth football in our country in general. I congratulate my boys and my coaching staff, and everyone else who supported us in our efforts to qualify for the major competition."
