The Football Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina expresses its deep solidarity with all citizens affected by the devastating floods, which have caused immense material damage, claimed lives, and inflicted painful losses on many families across our country. Aware of the gravity of the situation, FFBiH is committed to helping those affected by taking concrete steps to assist in rebuilding the major damages to their homes and properties.
FFBiH will actively engage in raising financial aid to be donated to those in need of material assistance. These funds will be directed to individuals and communities in the hardest-hit areas in order to help rebuild their homes and restore normal life. The campaign will be organized at all levels, in cooperation with various partners, humanitarian organizations, and donors.
At the upcoming UEFA Nations League home matches in Zenica against Germany and Hungary, FFBiH will, in collaboration with the humanitarian organization "Pomozi.ba," set up donation boxes at all stadium entrances. We invite all fans to take this opportunity to contribute to the recovery of the affected areas. All collected funds will be directly delivered to the citizens and communities in these regions.
In addition to institutional support, the players and coaching staff of the BiH national football team, along with members of the FFBiH Executive Board, have decided to donate part of their personal funds to fully contribute to this campaign. With this, everyone within FFBiH – management, administration, coaching staff, and players – has recognized the severity of the matter and genuinely wishes to participate in providing help to citizens in the affected areas.
Following the agreement between FFBiH President Vico Zeljković and UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin, FFBiH has submitted an official request to UEFA for the approval of dedicated funds to be used for repairing the flood damages. UEFA has recognized the importance of this initiative and will fully support our efforts to provide assistance to people who have suffered significant losses.
FFBiH also appeals to all our fans to display good sportsmanship and respect towards our opponents at the upcoming matches, avoiding any incidents that could lead to further financial penalties from UEFA. Unfortunately, in previous games, we faced substantial fines due to inappropriate behavior by some fans (over CHF 140.000, approximately BAM 300.000), resulting in the ban of our fans from attending the away match against Germany in Freiburg. The funds lost in this way could have been directed to those who need them most – our fellow citizens in impacted regions.
We call on all football fans to join this campaign and contribute financially to help rebuild the communities severely impacted by this disaster. This is a chance to show solidarity, unity, and responsibility, not just as football fans but as a socially responsible society that cares for its community.
The Football Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina remains committed to providing tangible assistance to all those in need during these challenging times. We hope that this campaign will contribute to a faster recovery and help people return to their homes.
