Today in Zenica, the women’s “A” national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina was defeated from Russia with 1:6 in the qualifying match for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Championship.

The BH team came to advantage in the 5th minute. Lidija Kuliš made the corner kick, and the goalkeeper of Russia, Elvira Todua, in an effort to throw the ball into the field, turned it into her own net.

The Russians threatened for the first time in the 19th minute, when Nadezhda Koltakova shot from over 20 meters, and Envera Hasanbegović kicked the ball into the corner.

The guests equalized the result in the 26th minute. Elena Danilova got rid of her guards and sent a ball from about 10 meters from the left behind the back of Envera Hasanbegović.

Maria Galay came out alone at the goal of the BH team in the 39th minute and hit low the right corner for 1:2.

Kuliš had a great opportunity in the 42nd minute, when she rounded the goalkeeper of the Russian team, but Anna Kozhnikova blocked her shot.

After a duel of Alisa Spahić and Danilova in the penalty area of the BH national team, the referee Carina Vitulano awarded a penalty shot for Russia. Elena Morozova made a penalty kick and scored for 1:3.

In the 58th minute, Morozova perfectly played Nadezhda Smirnova who came out alone in front of Hasanbegović and scored the fourth goal for the Russian national team.

Milena Nikolić had a good chance for the BH team in the 71st minute, but the Russian defence players blocked her attempt.

Alena Andreeva made a great run from the left side and threw the ball to the second goal-post, where Danilova managed to send a ball into the goal for 1:5. The final result was set by Smirnova in the additional time.

The BH national team continues qualifications on 10th April, when they will play against England at the Zenica training camp.
