Sarajevo Canton FA Normalization Commission's Decisions

Category: News

The Football Association of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH FA) has published decisions from the Sarajevo Canton Football Association (SC FA) Normalization Commission meeting. FBiH FA's official statement in full:

In line with the FFBiH Urgency Committee’s decision, the SC FA Normalization Commission held its inaugural session on March 5, 2025, to review key matters concerning the activity plan aimed at normalizing SC FA operations.

Given the assessments that SC FA operations have been significantly disrupted and unregulated, especially affecting the electoral process within SC FA and leading to years of non-compliance with FFBiH and FBiH FA regulations, as well as Sarajevo Canton laws, the Commission has adopted the following conclusions:

1. The normalization process must be conducted in the best interests of SC FA-affiliated clubs, requiring:
a. Activities toward statutory alignment of SC FA with FFBiH, FBiH FA, and Sarajevo Canton regulations. Responsible parties: the Commission, SC FA club representatives, and a working group appointed by the Commission. Deadline: April 2025.
b. Convening and holding a regular SC FA Assembly to review and adopt the aligned statute. Responsible parties: the Commission and SC FA club representatives. Deadline: April 2025.
c. Following statute adoption, the Commission will organize and hold the SC FA Electoral Assembly. Responsible parties: the Commission and SC FA club representatives. Deadline: May 2025.

2. The Commission will ensure transparency and club involvement throughout the process. Any unilateral changes to the statute or unauthorized Assembly sessions outside the Commission’s framework will be deemed illegitimate and illegal, contradicting normalization efforts.

3. All competitions at all SC FA levels must continue without delay. Existing SC FA bodies, committees, and administration are responsible for taking necessary actions to ensure uninterrupted competitions.

4. Future sessions will address the functioning of SC FA bodies and committees, particularly those involved in competition organization, with potential dismissals and appointments based on needs.

5. The Commission has unanimously annulled all SC FA's disciplinary measures and suspensions imposed on clubs, sports officials, and SC FA Assembly delegates affiliated with clubs.

6. The Commission insists on maintaining full transparency in SC FA affairs and proper club involvement in the normalization process.

7. Once SC FA statute is aligned and the electoral process is completed, extraordinary assemblies at FFBiH and FBiH FA will be held in order to integrate SC FA representatives into all FFBiH and FBiH FA bodies per their proportional representation.
