The decision to withdraw from the national team scene was announced by Lulić earlier, and this was confirmed by the mail sent to the Federation’s office, which we convey:

“Life decisions are never made overnight, especially when it comes to love, such as my love for Bosnia and Herzegovina and the dress of the country I love.

However, it's time for goodbye.

After many days of thinking and talking to my family and my closest ones, I decided that a national team’s career for me was over. Heavy heart I'm telling you this, because I invested my time, health and a huge amount of love fighting for the coat of arms of my country.

Sometimes it went bad, sometimes good, and the crown of my career, like for all of us, was going to the World Cup in Brazil.

It is regrettable that we did not repeat this success, but we were lost somewhere and now is the time for the young coming forces, who should learn from our mistakes.

Some things could be better, some were done perfectly, and the only thing I never regret is that I always was giving my utmost on the pitch. Maybe, sometimes it seemed to some people too little, but we all know how much stress we survived together with our families.

Thank you to all head coaches, the Federation, the fans, who have been following us all over the world and who I will miss the most, to the media, teammates, ball collectors, all of them, who, in some way, were part of my life, but it is time is for departure from a national team’s jersey with the fact that I will be the most loyal BH fan in the future.

Since some sentences and things are sometimes misinterpreted, I would ask the media to accept my decision, which was made after a long thinking and was never influenced by things that happened or did not happen.

I always had a good relationship with all, both in the Federation and in the dressing room, but also beside it, and my decision was made solely because I felt that it was time for new forces and new blood.

Thank you all for giving me support and staying with me all these years.
