Under the chairmanship of President Elvedin Begić, the 14th ordinary session of the FF BH Executive Board was held in Sarajevo today. The session was attended by 13 members of the Executive Board, the Honorary President Ivan Osim, a member of the Committee on Mediation and Counselling, Sead Kajtaz and Zvjezdan Misimović, Advisor to the Executive Committee on Football Issues.
In one part of the session, the head coaches of “A” national team and U-21 team, Mehmed Baždarević and Vinko Marinović respectively, who submitted their reports regarding the last qualifying matches, were also present.
After the discussions, the reports of the head coaches from the matches of the national teams, that is, BH-Belgium and Estonia-BH in the qualifications for the 2018 FIFA World Cup (“A”) and BH-Portugal in the qualifications for the 2019 European Championship (U-21) are unanimously adopted.
It was concluded that the goal in the qualifications for the 2018 World Cup was not achieved, and that the contract of the head coach Baždarević had expired, so that “A” national team was currently without its head coach. The Technical Committee was tasked to prepare a detailed analysis of the failures in the qualifications, while the members of the Committee on Mediation and Counselling, Ivica Osim, Duško Bajević and Sead Kajtaz, would be in charge and authorized to work with Zvjezdan Misimović to nominate candidates for the head coach until 01.11.2017. The proposal will be considered at the next session of the Executive Board, which is scheduled for 10.11.2017.
