The U-17 team of Bosnia and Herzegovina won Slovenia with 2:1 today in a friendly match at the FF BH Training Centre in Zenica.

The first attempt had the BH team in the 13th minute. Andrija Drljo centred from the right, but after a head shot of Madžid Šošić, the ball ended up in the hands of the Slovenian goalkeeper Žan-Luka Leban.

Drljo also tried from the right side of the opponent’s penalty area in the 30th minute, but Leban was again at the height of the task.

Silvio Ilinković took a really good shot from over 20 meters in the 30th minute, but the Slovenian goalkeeper was once again sure.

BH took advantage in the 37th minute. Andrija Drljo shot on the left side of the penalty area of Slovenia and hit the opposite corner of Leban’s goal for 1:0.

In the last minute of the first half, Madžid Šošić got better in the opponent’s penalty area and from about 10 meters sent the ball into the net for 2:0.

In the second period of the game, the BH team had a field initiative, but without real opportunities. The guests mostly threatened from the breaks, and one was fruitful in the 87th minute. Žiga Slaviček centred from a free kick on the right, and the highest in the jump was Žan Vipotnik who sent the ball by his head behind Faris Krkalić.

After the match, the acting head coach Adin Mulaosmanović said: “Some players imposed themselves on the previous winter camp and today they got a chance. We had five new players in the first squad. Our goal was to see if we could increase the competition and the guys showed their desire and commitment. A result maybe was not in the forefront, but it was a pleasure for us to win. We will continue to prepare for the qualifying elite round.”

BH and Slovenia will play another match at the FF BH TC in Zenica on 21st February at 11:00 h.
