The players of the U-21 team of Bosnia and Herzegovina gathered at the FF BH Training Centre in Zenica last night and have already done one training session.

The head coach Vinko Marinović says about the start of preparations and opponents:

“We did our first training session today. We have a lot of injured players and we miss the team's largeness. Mihojević was injured, and we have already known that we would not be able to count on Hadžiahmetović and Redžić. Memija is suspended and this makes things more difficult for us. Besides Spain, Portugal is probably the best U-21 team in Europe, composed of players who are standard in strong clubs. A big game is ahead of us and we certainly will not miss the motives. Against such a team, we simply have to give the maximum, if we want to get a positive result.”

The U-21 team player, Eldar Čivić believes that our team can play well with every opponent:

“We have just gathered. There are also several new players that positively affect the atmosphere. Portugal is strong, but they are also people of blood and flesh and are not invincible. We can oppose everybody, so why will we not succeed? We will certainly do our best to reach a favourable result. We have to start a match stronger than in the match against Romania a month ago.”

For the first time, an invitation to the U-21 team was sent to Zinedin Mustedanagić, who stated:

“The atmosphere in the team is great. We have already started the today's training session with quality works, in order to be ready for the match and achieve the best possible result. Portugal is one of the best teams in this generation, but I think that, if ready, we can respond in the right way.”
