The U-17 women’s team once again beat Montenegro; Lucić wants to qualify to the EURO!

Category: News

The U-17 women’s team of Bosnia and Herzegovina beat Montenegro with 2:1 in Zenica today, as well as in the match played two days ago.

The guest team reached the advantage in the 3rd minute, when Jelena Vujadinović scored a goal net of the BH team with a lob-shot.

Already in the 14th minute, the BH team equals the result after a precise shot of Elma Husić from twenty meters.

Lara Ganić scored for 2:1 in the 17th minute. Husić tried again from the distance, but Milica Knežević bounced the ball to Ganić, who scored a goal form five meters.

After several opportunities for Montenegro in the second half, our team was threatened for the first time in the 69th minute. After throwing the ball by Alma Krajnić, Andrea Gavrić tried from about ten meters, but she was not precise.

Two minutes later, Dušica Lukić shot from the edge of the penalty area, but the goalkeeper of Montenegro, Valentina Vukićević, caught the ball. The attempt of Sajra Fejzic in the 75th minute was ended with the same result.

Until the end of the match, there were no more opportunities, so a result 2:1 for BH remained.

The head coach of the BH women’s U-17 team, Ilija Lucić, said after the game: “I congratulate the players on another victory and thank our friends from Montenegro, who were excellent sparring partner before the elite round of qualifications. We will have to fix some of the mistakes we made in this double-match until the start of the tournament. Austria is a favourite in the group, but I hope we will take advantage of the home pitch and qualify to the EURO.”

The player Lara Ganić is satisfied with the victory: “I’m glad we won in these two matches. Mood in the team is great and we can hardly wait for qualifying matches. I hope that we will fulfil our goal and reach the big competition.”

The today's match was also attended by the head coach of the women’s “A” and U-19 teams, Samira Hurem and Dragan Jevtić respectively, as well as the FF BH executive director of the sport sector, Elmir Pilav.
