The U-21 team of Bosnia and Herzegovina won Portugal with 3: 1 in Zenica today, in the qualifying match for the European U-21 Championship.
The Portuguese had the first chance in the 8th minute when Joao Gamboa hit a goalpost. Two minutes later, the guests get the advantage. Joao Carvalho hits the left lower corner of Trkulja's goal from 18 meters.
The elects of Vinko Marinović came to the draw in 22nd min. Stjepan Lončar kicked from a corner, and in the penalty area of Portugal, Besim Šerbečić reacted the best and by a head shot sent a ball from the five-meter area behind the back of Joel Pereira.
Trkulja intervened well in the 38th minute when Xadas tried with free kick. Gojak returned in the 42nd minute, but his attempt at a distance was inaccurate.
Portugal had the last chance in the first half in the 45th minute. Fernando crossed to the right and centred towards Xadas, who sent the ball by head beside the goal.
Jukić in the 61st minute shoots from twenty meters, and goalkeeper of Portugal throws the ball into the field. Five minutes later, Gojak took the free kick from the left side, and nobody caught the ball in the penalty area, so it went beside the goal.
Ivan Jukić made a great move in the 69th minute on the left side, penetrated the penalty area and threw the ball into the five-meter area, where the Portuguese defenders intervened in front of Gojak and Demirović. Our wing attacker Jukić tried once again in the 70th minute from the edge of the penalty area, but the ball went over the crossbar.
The BH team made an advantage in the 77th minute. Ćavar took the ball from the Portuguese in the middle of the field and played with Demirović, who hit from the right side the opposite angle for 2:1.
Yuri Ribeiro shot at 84tzh minute very well, but Trkulja was at his task. After a corner in 87th minute, Delgado missed the goal with head-kick from five meters.
The final 3:1 was set by Luka Menalo in the additional time. Kuzmanović crossed the left and played a return ball for Mustedanagić, whose shot Pereira defended, and the ball bounced back to Menala, who sent it in the net.
Our team will play the next match on 10th November when they will be hosted by Wales.
