The captains will be Luis Figo and Ronaldinho, coaches Ancelotti and Deschamps.The referee of the match will be Pierluigi Collina.
Amongst others, Abidal, Cafu, Djorkaeff, Hierro, Litmanen, Pires, Trezeguet and Celia Šašić have confirmed their performances. The final list of players who will take part in this humanitarian action will be known soon.
Tickets for CHF 10, 17 and 22 are available at www.ticketcorner.ch and all income from the match and charity dinner is intended for the UEFA Foundation for Children, from which humanitarian and development projects will be funded.
Speaking at a press conference, the UEFA President, Aleksander Čeferin, stressed:
“Football can have a significant impact on people’s lives, so it’s great to see such stars united around the right things. I am firmly convinced that our sport can play a key role in social change, and this humanitarian game is a great example of how football can do well. I wholeheartedly support all those who participate in this special event in Geneva, including all the players and fans and I look forward to attending that match.”
