Matches in Gradačac, Sarajevo and Široki Brijeg

Three quarter-final matches of the Cup of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the 2018/19 season will be played tomorrow.

Zvijezda is hosting TOŠK in Gradačac, and Sarajevo will host a team of Zrinjski at the “Asim Ferhatović-Hase” Stadium. Borac Banja Luka is visiting Široki Brijeg.

The match OFK Sloga (Gornje Crnjelovo) vs. Klis (Buturović Polje) is scheduled for 5th March at 15:00 h.

Zvijezda Gradačac - TOŠK

The first on the pitch will be players of Zvijezda and TOŠK from Tešanj starting at 14:30 h. The match will be played at the “Banja Ilidža” Stadium in Gradačac, and the head coach of the home team, Mile Lazarević, says his team will provide its maximum:

“First of all, we achieved a great success by qualifying to the Cup quarter-finals. It’s not an easy task ahead of us, because there were a lot of changes in the squad during the winter break. Some players left, some new have come, but many of them have already performed in this competition for other clubs, so they will be not eligible to play tomorrow. I hope that those, who will play, do their utmost to achieve the best possible result.”

The head coach of TOŠK, Ajdin Mrguda, expects a quality match:

“Zvijezda is an opponent with whom we can handle. We compete at the same level and I think that our chances of passing to the semi-finals are the same. The problem for both teams is that we will not be able to count on several reinforcements from the winter transfer period, because they played for other clubs in the Cup. In any case, I believe that there are two good games ahead us, in which the audience will have a chance to see something.”

Sarajevo - Zrinjski

Most attention is drawn to the match of the two first-ranked teams of BH Telecom Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sarajevo and Zrinjski, which starts tomorrow at 17:00 h.

The head coach of the home team, Husref Musemić, says:

“According to the positions on the table, this is the final before the final. It is certain that we did not want to meet at this stage, so we expect tough matches. We know each other well. There are two matches ahead of us and we will have to be wise, which does not mean we will calculate. This is a match of teams that like to play. I do not know whether it is an advantage to play the first match home, but we want to go to the semi-finals.”

The head coach of Zrinjski, Blaž Slišković, underlines his team’s ambitions in the largest domestic competition:

“The Cup is such a competition that opens the opportunity also for the weak teams to go far, although I think it would be better if the draw is half-seeded, that is, preventing the Premier League’s teams from playing each other as long as possible. Namely, I do not consider good that already the sixteenth finals were a farewell to Željezničar or Široki Brijeg, and that Zrinjski or Sarajevo would certainly not be in semi-finals. However, now it is irrelevant, because if we have the ambitions to go to the end as we have, then it is not so important that we got Sarajevo as our opponent in the quarter-finals. Clearly there were a lot of easier opponents at this stage of the competition, but it does not seem realistic that we can come to the trophy without matches against Sarajevo and Široki Brijeg.”

Široki Brijeg - Borac

The match between Široki Brijeg and Borac will begin at “Pecara” at 19:00 h.

Goce Sedloski, the head coach of Široki Brijeg, appreciates tomorrow’s opponent:

“The players were exhausted in a demanding match against Zrinjski, but we have to rise, because we are aware of the importance of tomorrow’s match. An inconvenient team is coming that is the first in the RS League and which certainly has quality. We have to play tough, if we want to pass into the semi-finals. Everyone who thinks it's an easy task ahead of us, is wrong. We must do our best to win.”

The expert on the bench of Borac, Darko Vojvodić, leaves the role of favourite to the host:

“Široki Brijeg is an absolute favourite in this double-match and if they do not pass into the semi-finals, it will be a real sensation. We are a team that is still building, while they have been playing well for a long time and are in the ranks above us. Besides, we will miss a lot of players. They are favourites, but there is always “but”. We will do our utmost.”
