Two matches were played today at the stadiums in Hrasnica and Vogosca within the first round of the UEFA's U-16 development tournament.
Bosnia and Herzegovina's team defeated Scotland in the penalty shootout. The score in the regular time was 3:3. According to the development tournament rules, BIH won two, and Scotland one point.
"This was a very difficult match, and the weather was hard on everyone as well. The boys from both teams should be praised. We played against physically powerful team, we were good in the first half time, but in the second Scotland managed to turn the result around. However, we showed strength and quality and ended the match in a draw. This was a good test before the EURO qualifications", said coach Sakib Malkocevic.
In the second match in Vogosca, Azerbaijan defeated Montenegro after Djurkovic's own goal in 29'.
The tournament will resume tomorrow where BIH will play against Montenegro, and Scotland against Azerbaijan, both at 16:00 hours.
