Bosnia and Herzegovina cadet football team has gathered today at the FFBIH training center in Zenica where they'll stay and prepare for the upcoming European Championship Elite Qualifying Round. Our opponents in the group 3 will be Georgia, Italy and Russia.
Coach Sakib Malkocevic: "After two friendly victories in Montenegro, the morale is very high. However we have to be aware of the situation and prepare for the hard task that is ahead. Stakes are high because our team never managed to qualify for the major football event. Thanks to this generation, now's our third chance to make that happen, but it's important that everyone remains healthy. We'll analyze our opponents and I expect us to be ready for the tournament.
Our first match will be against host Georgia, who should be very motivated because of home field. We have to take responsibility and give our best. Italy and Russia may be favorite teams, but we showed we can play with the best out there. I can't promise anything, but it's our right to hope for the best."
Three training sessions in total will be performed tomorrow and the day after, and departure for Tbilisi is scheduled for Sunday morning.
