Bosnia and Herzegovina Under-21 national football team held a press conference today ahead of the European Championship qualifier with Liechtenstein. Coach Vinko Marinovic, and team members Amir Hadziahmetovic, Memija and Goran Karacic addressed the media.
Marinovic: "We will try to improve the game and make a step forward. Yesterday we started the preparations, now we only wait for Suljic to join the team. Demir Peco was injured in the last match, so we called Nikola Dujakovic from Krupa instead. Other team members are here and working well. These are the players who went through our youth teams and know each other well. I hope they will meet our expectations, but we'll follow others who could eventually join this team.
We're focused exclusively on the first game with Liechtenstein. There are no weak teams today and we have to take it seriously and get ready. Portugal and Switzerland are great teams, but Romania and Wales also have the quality. We're going to review their games and then we'll have the complete picture about those teams."
Hadziahmetovic: "I'm happy with my form, and I'm a regular player in my club that has a good track record. As for the national team, I think we have a good team. We know each other and I hope we'll be successful in the qualifiers."
Karacic: "The time has come for a youth team to make a success. We have a new coach with whom I have worked before, he's an excellent coach and a great man. I expect us to make a good result."
Memija: "I believe this team has what it takes, however the first game is the most important. We need a victory and later we'll think about the next opponent."
