The head coach Samira Hurrem, the captain Milena Nikolić and a national team player Lidija Kuliš associated with journalists.
“We are eagerly waiting for continuation of the qualifications”, began the head coach and continued, “it is unrealistic to say that our opponents are not favourites, but we did a lot of work on preparations for this game. We analysed our opponent very well and my players will give maximum, they will comply with the agreement and I think that will be enough to achieve what we want. We believe that we will be happy after the tomorrow’s match, although Russia is a good team, but my players are eager to play and prove themselves.”
A progress of the women’s national team is visible in every segment, as confirmed by the head coach:
“We have already started with strategic investments in 2011, and I have to mention that our Federation, comparing to all associations in our region, invests much more in women’s football, so that a positive result would mean a lot for further development and promotion of football in our country.”
Regarding the health condition, Samira Hurem will not be able to count on Dajana Spasojević for a previous injury and it is also questionable whether Amira Spahić will start the match. The head coach praised the medical team, Dr Nedžad Jusić and physiotherapist Mirza Marevac: “Our medical team is excellent and I believe that they will do everything to ensure that the players are healthy, and they also managed to prevent some kind of virosis among the national team players. We also expect young Merjem Medić to be ready tomorrow as well.”
The team captain Milena Nikolić emphasized in the first place the merits of the entire team, which good game will have an influence on prominence of some of them:
“The greatest strength is that the whole team plays well. Based on such game, there will always be an individual better than others. Tomorrow, if we as a team play well and fulfil all the tasks set by the technical staff, then we will certainly be very good to match Russia.”
Lidija Kuliš is also expected to be very well in the attack:
“The preparations are very good, we worked very much and analysed our opponent, so I think we are ready and motivated, and we can hardly wait to continue qualifying matches. We played several friendly matches in the past period, and we were trying to correct the mistakes we made against Wales, so I think we are prepared well for the tomorrow’s match. Of course, Russia is a favourite, but we also believe in ourselves and our qualities. We play home, in front of our spectators, and we want to win three points.”
Milena and Lidija, as well as the head coach, thanked the journalists who always supported them and followed their work, as it was today. They especially emphasized that it is a pleasure to play in Zenica, because the audience is what gives them an additional motive to present themselves in an even better edition.
The qualifying match between the women’s national teams of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Russia is scheduled for tomorrow at 16:00 h at the FF BH Training Centre in Zenica, and there will be a live broadcast on the City TV as well as on the official FF BH YouTube channel.
