One of the most influential people in BIH's sport, Ivan Osim, president of the mediation and counseling board was born on this day in 1941.
Legendary Zeljeznicar and SFRJ's player built his career in France, and shortly in the Netherlands. He played 16 matches for Yugoslavia and in those sixteen matches he scored 8 goals. He also participated in the 1964 olympics in Tokyo.
As a coach, he was successful in Zeljeznicar, Partizan, Panathinaikos, Sturm and JEF United. At the 1984 summer olympics in Los Angeles, he assisted Ivan Toplak, Yugoslavia's olympic football coach at a time, which won the bronze medal. He also coached Yugoslavia himself as well as Japan.
One of his later duties included the presidency of the FFBIH normalization committee, when he played an important role in stabilizing the football in our country.
