As it was expected before the start, the match was very tough and was played mostly in the middle of the pitch. Both teams had several “half-chances” to score, but the players did not have enough concentration in the finals or the excellent goalkeepers stood out with their defences on both sides.
The Germans took the lead in the 59th minute. Alara Sehitler took the free kcik from the right side, Svea Stoldt tried attractively to shot with her heel to the goal, and the ball, in the jumble, bounced in front of the goal line from Danique Tolhoek into the net. Seven minutes before the end of the match, Germany doubled their advantage. After a corner kick from the right by Melina Kruger, Paulina Platner scored her second goal of the championship with a header for 7-8 meters.
With this victory, Germany secured the first place in Group A, and Denmark and the Netherlands will decide on the second passenger in the semi-finals from this group in a mutual encounter in the 3rd round.
