First place in Group A was won by the German national team, which achieved maximum performance in three matches. A great drama was seen in the fight for second place. The Netherlands and Denmark entered the last round with three points each, and the decisive match ended with a score of 1:1, so the Dutch went further thanks to a better goal difference. In Group B, Spain and France secured a place in the semifinals after the second round with six points from two matches.
