Her coaches point out that her courage and determination have profiled her as the leader of the generation, and that with her ability she gives the wind in the back of the team.
Slišković does not hide her satisfaction that the WU17 EURO will be held in Bosnia and Herzegovina:
“As for the performance at the EURO that is being held in our country, it is a very big thing, both for me and for our entire team. It is a dream of every athlete to compete in such a big competition as the European Championship, and I am very proud that my generation was chosen to be a part of that. It will certainly be a great experience for us young players and it will help us in our further development.”
Gloria Slišković has already collected several appearances for the senior national team too.
“It is true that I have been playing for the women’s “A” national team for a year now, even though I am only 16 years old. The head coach Samira Hurem, along with the technical staff, recognized my qualities and included me in the “A” team that is currently playing qualifiers for the World Cup. Playing with older, more experienced players, who play in big clubs, I gain a lot of experience and quality knowledge that means a lot to me as a young player. It is certain that these performances for the senior national team were welcome, because of the EURO that awaits me, and the responsibility I have as the team captain”, says Slišković.
This talented player is looking forward to the start of the European Championship:
“The team is ready we are all eagerly waiting for the first match against the Netherlands at the Grbavica. We have been working hard for the past year and a half. The head coach Ilija Lucić and his associates prepared us well for what awaits us. I believe in my team; we are a good klapa. We are adorned with great unity both on and off the pitch. We know what kind of competition we are playing in and we are ready to do our best and present ourselves in the best way.”
Gloria Slišković also has a message for the audience:
“This time I want to invite all the fans to come and support us and see on the spot that football is a sport for girls as well. Your support means a lot to us!”
