FIFA has determined the application method and number of available accreditations via its Media Channel for the upcoming World Cup, which will be held from June 12th to July 13th 2014 in Brazil.
All interested journalists must send their accreditation request exclusively in e-form using FIFA Media Channel. Everyone who is already registered can access this page via official FIFA site (www.fifa.com) using his or hers user name and password, and those who are not, must register before.
To gain access to the application procedure, first your name must be on the local football federation's list.
We are hereby informing all domestic media that FFBIH has secured 15 accreditations for 2014 World Cup in Brazil. All 15 for reporters (newspapers, Internet, freelancers) and none for photographers.
FIFA accreditation department representatives explained the number of given accreditations was formed from previous experiences at the earlier championships.
During the final group draw, the work meetings have been held, and some of those meetings were dedicated to the media. During the meetings, the rules were introduced, which must be followed by all involved parties (FIFA, football federations and journalists). The rules are:
- Football federations will distribute their accreditation quota only to representatives of newspapers, Internet sites, and freelancers.
- All other media representatives (TV and radio), must send their requests directly to FIFA's media department (media.fifa.com).
- When distributing these accreditations, the priorities are: national newspaper agencies, daily sports digests, daily newspapers with significant influence in domestic countries (tradition, number of prints)
- All forms of false registrations, informations and representatives' misuse is prohibited.
- Football federations are responsible for accreditation distribution, but cooperation with associations of sports journalists is recommended (if available).
- Every verified journalist will be vouched for by the national football federations, which means the FFBIH will report the journalist and his/hers editorial staff (first and last name, id number, and the company name) in the quote management system (which can only be accessed by the football federations), and after that the individual report is filed via FIFA Media Channel.
- Deadlines must be respected. Individual accreditation process via FIFA Media Channel must be finished until January 31st 2014. FIFA will directly inform the applicants if their applications are accepted or denied from late February next year.
FFBIH informs the local media about the accreditation regulations:
- We are inviting all media representatives to deliver World Cup accreditations requests to FFBIH until December 26th 2013 in an official form (on media company memos and with editor's signature) via email: nsbih1@bih.net.ba
- FFBIH will hold a media committee meeting on December 30th, and make a list of approved accreditiations according to mentioned priorities.
- Appointed World Cup journalists will carry out an individual accreditation process no later than January 31st.
- FFBIH asks for everyone's professionalism and good assessment of all aspects before applying for accreditation.
Our common goal is to introduce ourselves to the world in a best way possible, and therefore we will take the necessary steps to make that possible.
