Sofrenić said, among other things:
“All this took a little longer, but the selection of the head coach requires that many things need to be agreed and harmonized. We expected that everything would be finished on 4th January, but it was prolonged and only now we have chosen a new head coach. This is Ivaylo Petev. On behalf of the Executive Board, I wish Petev a lot of success and that he achieves results that will take us to the World Cup. We believe that two months are enough for the head coach to prepare for the obligations that await him, and next week the technical staff of the “A” team will be also selected.”
Zeljković greeted those present and said:
“We have a difficult period behind us, but we managed to agree and choose a new head coach to whom I wish a lot of luck in his work. I hope he will have the support of the public and the fans. We are aware of the weight of today’s decision, but we believe that we have made the best move for the football of Bosnia and Herzegovina and we expect good results. We will see what it will look like in the coming period. The results will show if we made a good choice. We want to achieve a qualification for the World Cup and European Championships.”
