Barbarez and Džeko Speak Ahead of the Netherlands Match

A press conference for Bosnia and Herzegovina's national "A" football team was held today at the FFBiH headquarters in Sarajevo, ahead of tomorrow’s match against the Netherlands.

Coach Sergej Barbarez and captain Edin Džeko addressed the media.
When asked if the team would be ready for the next duel after the match against Germany, Barbarez said: "We’ll be ready. It’s good for us to play three days later, as it gives the players a chance to regain confidence. Up until the match with Germany, things didn’t look bad as we were growing and rejuvenating the team. Of course, a loss sets you back, but it’s part of this sport. Even though it’s hard after a defeat, I see great motivation to address things and give the players five chances if needed, as I believe in them."

Džeko added: "I hope all the players have the last match in mind. Regardless of the fact that Germany is above us, we completely underperformed. Everyone should see this as a new opportunity to prove themselves, because in football, things are quickly forgotten. What happened three days ago doesn’t matter after the next game. A strong performance against the Netherlands can somewhat make up for the Germany fail. It won’t be an easy match of course, but we’re playing at home. We need to channel our anger, first at ourselves and then at the opponent."

The senior national team will hold their training session at 15:00 in Butmir.
