The first media activities were also held in Ilidža, where goalkeeper Nikola Vasilj and forward Ermedin Demirović spoke to the press.
Vasilj: "Most of the players arrived yesterday, and the rest are coming today, so we’re really looking forward to these two matches. As for the first game, we need to be careful, we know how tricky these teams can be on counterattacks if we don’t score early. We must stay fully focused and use the entire week to prepare well. We all know how important the Austria match will be, which is why it’s crucial we stay focused on San Marino. We want to make the most of this week, to prepare properly and go into the match with full seriousness. It might not be easy, but we all know an early goal can change the course of the game. If that doesn’t happen, we’ve got to stay patient. Of course, we accept the role of favorites, but our focus has to be entirely on the first game, then we can think about Austria."
Demirović: "For any forward it’s very important to get into form and to feel what it’s like when you score the goal and win. We’ll give everything to settle the San Marino game as quickly as possible, but it won’t be easy. They’ve got some good offensive players, and it’s important for us to use the opportunities we’ll have. The home game against San Marino was tough, but we had chances to finish it earlier. That’s our goal now, and that’s what we’ll work on these days — to go there as ready as possible. I don’t remember ever feeling better than I did this time coming here. I think each of us knows why we’re here, and we’re on the right track. We’ve got a chance to do something special this year, something nobody expected at the beginning. We’ve built a real team and a family-like relationship between us. Everybody has their own form at their clubs, which gives us a great feeling when we come here together."
Today’s training will be open to the media for the first 15 minutes and starts at 17:30.
