With a record of 65 goals in 133 appearances, Džeko ranks among the top 10 European goal scorers in terms of appearances in the national team jersey. He made his debut for Bosnia and Herzegovina on June 2nd, 2007, in a victory against Turkey, and also scored his first goal in that match.
Currently playing for Fenerbahce, Džeko leads the goal-scoring chart in the Turkish league with 18 goals. He has won the top scorer titles in the Bundesliga, Serie A, and the Europa League. When it comes to his club achievements, he notably won two championships in England with Manchester City and one with Wolfsburg in Germany.
Throughout his rich career, he has played for Željezničar, Teplice, Usti nad Labem, Wolfsburg, Manchester City, Roma, and Inter.
In November 2009, Džeko became the first UNICEF goodwill ambassador from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
