Džeko has played 139 matches and scored 67 goals for Bosnia and Herzegovina. He made his debut on June 2, 2007, in a 3:2 win over Turkey, scoring his first goal in that very match.

He currently plays for Fenerbahce, having previously represented Željezničar, Teplice, Ústí nad Labem, Wolfsburg, Manchester City, Roma, and Inter in a stellar career.
