The BH national team player Dennis Hadžikadunić is looking forward to the first match at the opening of the Nations League. At the Training Centre in Zenica, it was worked well, expectations were high and before leaving for Finland he announced what he wanted:
“I would like to win all 12 points from these four matches. One should be optimistic and think that way. That should be our goal.”
The first obstacle is Finland, how to overcome it?
“They are a good team, but so are we. I think that if we do what we need to do, as we have shown in some matches against strong national teams, we can beat every team. Now we need to repeat that, to have continuity and then there will be no problems. It is important to focus on ourselves, our game and what we can do best. We had hard and strong trainings here, which is normal, because the closer the match gets, the easier it gets. We have to correct the shortcomings, play bravely, be unique and I think we can do well.”
There are a lot of players at this gathering, how do you spend your time?
“This is an opportunity for us all to get to know each other better. We mostly spend time training and talking. It’s nice when you hang out with new players, hear them think and look at the game, the tasks in the team. When I come to Bosnia and wear this jersey with the coat of arms, I am proud and I can’t wait to run on the pitch.”
You won the Swedish Cup with Malmö after a better penalty shootout. What, in your opinion, is crucial in those moments, mental strength or happiness?
“I think both are important. You need to have a little luck, but also be mentally strong and evaluate well where you will shoot the ball. We were a little lucky and we won. In such stressful situations, you have to have great self-confidence and be “cold”.”
