The defender of the BH national team was eagerly waiting for the beginning of the qualifications, and talks about the impressions from this gathering:
“I missed this atmosphere, hanging out with the players, I liked to see Bićo (Ermin Bičakčić) with whom I am a roommate, but I like to see all the other players too. I must say that I also fished for our food, because in London I do not have the opportunity to eat Bosnian specialties. I cannot wait to run out on the pitch and play again for the national team. I have missed all this, guys, fans, the excitement we share together.”
You came to the preparation with a pain in your shoulder. Does that make you a problem in training?
“The pain has not disappeared, but it’s a little better. I train and I try not to think about the pain, and I believe that everything will be OK when the match starts. I was doing two training sessions, so it was good, but, because of the rain, only the pitch was not so good.”
We open qualifications with two matches on the home pitch. How would you rate our opponents, Armenia and Greece?
“We have more experience with Greece. It’s a better team than Armenia, but I think that the first match is always important at the beginning of the new cycle and we must not relax. We had earlier situations when we lost from significantly weaker teams and I do not think that will happen with Armenia. However, we have to be serious and give our best to win. The Greeks have created us some problems before, but we are better than them, so victory should not come into question, if we are one hundred percent dedicated and concentrated on the game. In addition, the start of qualifications in front of our fans is always an additional motive.”
How does it look like to be Arsenal player?
“Great! I’m fine at the club, the style of the game suits me and I fit well. It's important that I play, fans recognize my fighting spirit and effort on the pitch, so that I have their support. London is an exciting city and it’s nice to live in it.”
