Head coach Robert Prosinečki addressed media representatives ahead of today’s training session and said:
“The motive will not fail when playing for the national team, especially against a team like Italy. Players play in their clubs as standard with full playing minutes and it is important that we make a good recovery during the preparation period. I believe we will prepare the team and play a good match.”
Prosinečki also referred to the injury of Amer Gojak:
“Gojak has an injury problem and we won’t be able to count on him in matches with Italy and Liechtenstein.”
When asked if there would be a change in the line-up, the head coach replied:
“Those players, on whom we think to perform also in the play-off matches, will mainly play, and I expect them to repeat a quality game against Italy as in the first match in Turin. Against Liechtenstein, we have room to give chance to those players who played less minutes, so we will surely combine a lot in these two matches.”
Haris Hajradinović was invited to the “A” team for the first time.
“A dream come true for any player who performs for the national team, including me too. A challenging match with Italy awaits us. The head coach will decide who will play, and we should be prepared to give the maximum, if we get playing minutes. I know most of the players and I will have no problems with adjusting”, Hajradinović said at the start of the preparations.
A training session of our senior national team started at 18:00 h.
