The “Dragons” will have their first training session at the training camp of FK Sarajevo in Butmir today at 17:00 h, where the head coach Robert Prosinečki addressed the media representatives.
The head coach explained the situation with the injured players:
“Our medical service examined players who had problems with injuries, so Nastić, Vranješ and Bičakčić will not be in competition for matches with Northern Ireland and Austria. The injury of Čivić can be repaired, so we could count on him. There will be no subsequent invitations for Northern Ireland, but we will consider for Austria.”
Prosinečki says about the new UEFA competition, the UEFA Nations League:
“This is an interesting competition, because there are no friendly matches, and it also has the possibility of qualifications to the European Championship. The UNL is even more meaningful for smaller teams that are now more likely to achieve to a big competition. We are in a group with good teams. Northern Ireland was a bit short of going to the FIFA World Cup, while Austria is a serious team with several extra-class players playing in big clubs. It will be good tests for us, even though we will be in deficit for three injured defenders. I expect great games that are tailor-made for us and we will do everything in these three days to get better prepared.”
Robert Prosinečki also added that he was happy that most players were in good shape and that they were standard players in their clubs.
The midfield Elvis Sarić, who was transferred in Korean Suwon Bluewings this summer, said:
“I’m happy with the games in my new club, in Korea. I am ready. There are two important matches ahead of us and we need to be better prepared to get the results we want. The opponents are tough, composed of players who play in strong leagues, but we expect to win.”
The BH “A” national team will play against Northern Ireland in Belfast on 8th September and they will host Austria in Zenica on 11th September.
