The head coach Ivaylo Petev and the captain Edin Džeko answered the questions of the journalists.

The head coach said, among other things:

“I am satisfied, because we have no problems with injuries. I hope that everything will be fine after tonight’s training session. As far as the line-up is concerned, I know 90% who will be fielded, but when the training is over, then we will be one hundred percent sure.”

Petev points out that the team will go for the win:

“It is very important how we will behave on the pitch, what kind of approach we will have, how many chances we will create. Of course, we are going to win with all our might, but I cannot predict the result. Our main goal is to win and we have subordinated everything to that.”

About the opponent, the head coach says:

“Finland is a great team. We know it will not be easy tomorrow, but I believe in my players and we will do everything to win. We respect all our opponents. We were informed about Finland. What could bring an advantage to our side is unity. That could be our strongest weapon.”

The Finnish journalists were interested in who, in the opinion of Edin Džeko, is the favourite in the group:

“It’s an easy question, of course the French, the world champions, are the favourites. In that regard, it will be very important how the other teams will play against them, and who will eventually win a point against France. Ukraine and Finland are also good teams, while I honestly don’t know the Kazakh team the best. In general, I expect the race for second place by the very end of the qualifications.”

When asked what he expects from the new head coach, the captain said:

We expect better results. However, the head coach alone cannot bring the result by himself. We, players, have to be at the level, which was not the case in the previous qualifications. We certainly can do better. We expect much more from ourselves, the players, as compared to what we showed in the previous qualifiers.”

Džeko added:

“Tomorrow’s match is very important for both national teams. We have to be right as a team and only in that way can we achieve the desired result.”

After the press conference, the official training session of the BH team began.
