The first media activities were held today, and the journalists were addressed by the head coach Faruk Hadžibegić and the players Gojko Cimirot and Ermedin Demirović.
Hadžibegić thanked the media representatives for their arrival and interest in the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team and stated:
“I am extremely satisfied with the desire and motivation of the national team players who have come to this gathering so far. It is evident that they want to present the jersey with the national emblem in the best possible way. We’ll see, when they all come, what their health condition is; I hope they’ll all be healthy. We want to win six points in the next two matches. I have confidence in the players and we are going with the intention of winning the maximum number of points. It won't be easy; the opponents are experienced and their players play in good clubs. We take them all seriously and will do our best to win.”
About the national team of Iceland, the head coach says:
“We watched their friendlies with Sweden and Estonia even though they were not complete. They were missing most of the players who would play against us. Basically, it is a team that plays aggressively and they are very motivated. It is an experienced national team and you can see that they have a strong desire to make a good result. We have to be careful, but our team’s ambitions must be higher than theirs.”
Hadžibegić also added:
“We don’t have much time; the players are just arriving and we won’t have enough training sessions. But that’s the way things are. We have enough players; I am sure they will be ready and motivated to make the best result. I believe that we will find the best solution and we will see which national team players we will play in the next matches.”
Gojko Cimirot said:
“We gathered yesterday, we expect to be complete today. We all have one common goal and think the same way. Some players will not be with us now, because of injuries, but we have to do without them. The first match is very important and can determine the further course of the qualifications. I believe that we will all be ready and do our best to win.”
Ermedin Demirović:
“We are here to give our best in every match and I think we can beat anyone and achieve our goal. The most important is the first match, but we will be ready for anyone. We will prepare in the best way and I believe that we will continue to achieve good results. I’m in good shape and I’m here to help the team.”
