A press conference was held after the match, when the head coach Robert Prosinečki said, among other things:

“I congratulate the Greek national team which was better in this match and deservedly won. Unfortunately, we were not as real as we were against Finland. It is obvious that we have a problem, because we cannot play two matches at the top level in three days. The Greeks were better, had more opportunities. We incredibly made a lot of mistakes, gave too many balls to our opponent. All in all, Greece was a better team.”
